Stress Question Sample Answer
"I haven't had any real problems with my bosses or professors in college. In one of my previous jobs, I had a boss who was always away for business meetings. Since he was often out of the office, I have learned to ask questions from others if there was something I was unsure of. Or I would try to call him if there wasn't anyone qualified to answer my questions except him. He wasn't a bad manager. He was just doing his job. But it would have been great if he had been around the office more often."
Stress Question Tips
- This is a tricky question to answer so be careful! Keep in mind that this question isn't about your previous boss, but how you speak about them. So restrain yourself from saying anything negative about a previous boss no matter how bad your experience was with him or her. While being honest works in some areas in your life, that isn't the case when answering this type of question in an interview.
- A good way of answering this question is to choose an example that isn't too negative and discuss it briefly. Focus the bulk of your answer instead on what you learned from that experience.
