A telephone interview can come at any time and from any company, especially when you begin to network. That is why making good preparation for telephone interview is important for job seekers.

Here are some general tips for handling a phone interview:
  • Role-play and ask a friend to question you over the phone.
  • You can make good use of your answering machine. Call and left yourself a message when you are away from home. Find out if your message is clear and direct by listening to the message when you get home. Keep practicing until you are comfortable with the results.
  • Always be prepared. Keep a copy of your resume by the phone.
